The long pending charge against Mr A. D. Bennett, for som» informality in Supreme Court procedure, was heard before Judge Gillies this morning, when Mr Bennett was fined £10 and costs. The Law Society instigated the proceedings.
Pr Bailor intends publishing a new edition of his work on New Zealand birds during his residence in England as Com* missiooer to the Exhibition.
The Shaw-Sarille Co. offer saloon return tickets to the Colonial Exhibition for about £90.
There were 217 performers at the Choral Hall last night at the production of the " Messiah."
Mr Maguire, the contractor, offers good carpenters 10s per day, but refuses to pay indifferent men that amount just because they happen to be Society men. The strike is likely to collapse.
