Thames Jockey Club's Summer Mooting.

The general entries and acceptances for the Thames Jockey Club's Summer Meeting were received on Saturday evening as follows :— FIRST DAY.

Flying Stakes. —Mitrailleuse, Rewi, Sir Bedevere, Oapella, Direr, Mystery, Cinderella, Blarney, and Kalo.

There was a fair attendance at the Otahuhu Racing Club's Meeting held to*day. The following was the result of the various events .—Hurdle Eace, 2 miles: Granville 1, Zip 2, Evening Star 3. Evening Star, who was leading, fell, and Granville won easily by two lengths,—Suburban Plate, If miles: Snake 1, Victoria 2, Orphan 3. Won by two leDgths.—Steeplechase: Julia Ann 1, Hawthorng. Granville fell when holding s good position and broke his back; it is expected he will have to be destroyed.-— Railway Plate : Flageolet 1. Snake was the only other starter. —Maiden Plate % fiosewood 1, Larrikin 2, Bat ?>. This day. Training Notes. There was a lot of sorvieeable work done at Ellerslie this morning. Nelson was the firsit to make bis appearance on the track, and he went twioe round at a good swinging paoe, moving freely and well. The Cup favorite, Stoneyhnrst, with Wapiti for a companion, put in about two | miles, tho greater portion of which was done at their best. Stoneyhurst got over the ground in an excellent manner, but Wapiti appeared to go a trifle short. Derringer and Musk (fin company) were sent onoe round strongly, when Musk was beaten off', and King joined Derringer, the pair coming home fast. Subsequently Musk and King put in another three rounds at a medium pace ; and the two-year-olds, Petroleum (in neckcloth) and Catesby did similar work. Foul Shot, Libeller, and Tetford (in clothing) cantered twice round, coming home with a smart brush ; and Alpine Rose and Capsize performed useful work. Tasman, who had body cloth en, was treated to about three miles, moving id a very taking manner. Wright sent Woodnjtnph, Eevolver, and Contractor for useful work, the former

striding along in good style; and Waitiri, after accomplishing once round at a medium pace, was picked np by Balvage, the pair putting in a strong mile. The two year old oolt Scot Free was restricted to an easy task; and Quilp and Medico (in company) did serviceable work, spurting home. Carbineer and Cast Ashore were sent for a useful two miles, as were also the jumpers, King and Alaric. Alfred and Caoutoohouc did serviceable work. Turquoise and Necklace were not out, and it is said that the pair were tried over the Cup distance about mid day on Saturday last, Necklace having a lot the best of the gallop.

Consequent on a good gallop'with Taiman on Saturday, Waitiri has come in for some notice for the Auckland Cup, and about £500 has been written against her ™8 ftnd 10- On Saturday night tSOO to 90 was accepted about Stoneyhurst, and for the Steeplechase £200 to £40 was written against Shotover. Neck« lace has>dvanced to 100 to 14, while Tar* quoise has receded to 100 to 5.

Much sympathy is expressed with Mr Gallagher over the loss of his imported steeplechaser Granville, who was killed at the Otahohu meeting on Saturday, A free fight took place at the Otahuhu race meeting between 1). O'Brien, horseowner, Le Sueur, a bookmaker, a jockey named Williams, and a man named Evans. O'Brien suffered at Evans' hands, and La Sueur was knocked about by Williams. The dispute arose over a race not being ran to suit some people's books.
