The best gallop at Ellerslie this morning was done by Turquoise, who was accompanied by Necklace, Derringer, and Eadames, Derringer pulled up after a mile, and after a mile and a half Badames was out-paced, the other two coming home in splendid style. Tetford galloped the Cup distance alone. Foul Shot and Libeller went a turn round in company at a medium pace. Tasman was also treated to medium work. Stoneyhurst, Wapiti, and Nelson did the Cup distance fast. Wooduymph was sent alone, being picked up for the last half-mile by Scot Free.
