HAWERA.
This day. A fire broke out in Maxwell's Hotel this morning, at 9 o'clock. The origin is mysterious. The fire broke out in the lining near the kitchen chimney. There was no trace of the fire baving)commenced from the fireplace or the chimney. It was extinguished when about £70 worth of damage had been" done. The insurances on the building were for £200 in the Northern and £300 in the Phoenix, £400 for the furniture and £400 for the stock in the Colonial.
