(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sib,—l see by the public papers that subscription lists are opened to enable the young man, John Berry man, who was hurt by ai> explosion of powder in the Cambria mine some four or five months ago, toproeeed to Melbourne, to obtain the but medical adfice that can be procured in that city. Seeing that the young man met with his accident when in the employ of the Cambria Company, and consider* ing that it is mostly the working classes who are contributing their mite, I think it is only fair that his case should be brought under the notice of the directors of the above mentioned mine, asking them/or a little pecuniary assistance to this dealing fund ; I don't' think the appeal would" be in Tain.—l am, &c, A Wobkman.
