OUR MINES.

NEW PRINCE IMTEBIAL.

The manager reports that the winze on No. 1 reef from the intermediate level is down 41ft, and the reef looks really well, shewing gold freely. The reef in the intermediate drive going eastward is a nice body of stone, carrying favorable minerals, but no gold has been seen lately. The stopes are producing good crushing dirt, and lOlbs of specimens have been bagged during the week. Crashing is proceeding as usual, and the quartz is shaping much better. DAB WIN. The manager has decided to drire a crosscut into the footwall of the reef at No. 3 level, for the purpose of intersect* ing the footwall branch of the reef, which was worked in the Cambria ground at No. 3 level, and other lodes which may traverse the company's ground. It is intended to drive the crosscut tor a distance of 50ft., which would prospect the ground on the footwall of the lode, and tenders will be called for the work in the course.of a few days. NEW ALBURNIA. The wioza is down about 20ft, and contains some 2ft. of crushing dirt. The footwall has hitherto been separated | by a horse of mullock, which, however, seems to be dying out. Colors of gold have been seen every breaking down. A new leader about a foot wide, containing excellent mineral and showing colors of gold, is coming in from the hangingwall at the bottom of the winze. The rails have been laid in the Sons of Freedom level about 900 ft. Driving at the 70ft. level has been started. Just now the country is good, but it will probably get tighter before the lode is reached—7o or 80ft. ahead.

SILVER, CROWN (TARARU). Good progress is being made by the contractors with the extension of the drire at the low level, they baring driven 25ft. i since Thursday last, making a total distance of 77ft. aince commencing work. The country is an ezoellent class of sandstone, and a nice looking leader, some 2 or 9 inches wide, has just come in in the floor of the drive. It carries minerals of a favorable nature for gold, but very little quartz kas yet been broken, as the leader is lying very flat. GOLD RETURNS. Moanataiei.—Campbell and party, tributers, have banked 4ozs l§dwts gold, Waitekaubi.—Leah and party have banked ? ozs gold.
