WELLINGTON.
Yesterday. The report of the Boyal Commissioners on the Wellington Hospital has been forwarded to the Governor. They report that the evidence proves that Dr Chilton was unfit for his duties, owing to intemperate habits, and his dismissal is fully justified by insubordination. The letter sent by them to the Hospital Committee, re the dismissal of certain officers, and male servants, was necessary to the discipline and good management of the Institution. The Commissioners consider that since the appointment of Dr Chilton great extravagance has prevailed in the use of food and medical comforts. This day.
The men belonging to the Lumpers' Union went out on strike at noon to day ; subsequently twenty; seven of their number, deprecating the action of the Union in calling the men out on strike, notified the Shipping Companies that they bad resolved toVithdraw from the Union and go to work. The Union Co. are working the steamers with their own-raen, and the Tongariro and Doric will bring up men from the South to work if necessary.
