Sydney, This day. The prevailing drought has to a great extent. broken up, and heavy rain has fallen in many country districts. The action for damages brought by the Bank of New South Wales against the (rnvarnm«nt: arising out of the withdrawal from the Bank of the loan business of Government, has been concluded, but the result is subject to the decision of the full Court.
Melbourne, This day. Acting on the suggestion of Government of Western Australia, Mr Service has proposed that the Governors of Fiji and Western Australia have seats in the Federal Council, to be held in Hobart early in 1886.
Melboubnjs, Yesterday. Heavy rain has fallen during the past few days in Victoria and Kiverina, where it was greatly required.
