CAMBRIA. The hangingwall of the reef in the winze being sunk from No. 3 level was broken down this morning, with the result that the manager secured the satisfactory haul of 901bsof specimens, while geld was still left showing in the bottom. DARWIN. The drive in progress at No. 3 level is penetrating a favorable class of sandstone for sold, while the reef itself manifests considerable improvement. When break* ing down this morning colors of gold were seen in the hangingwall portion of the reef, while the manager also secured about 21bs of picked stone. The quartz is of a very favorable character, and carries some nice minerals. CALEDONIAN. The manager reported on Saturday as follows:—" There is no change ef importance to report from the stopes on the Red Queen leader at No. 3 level since my last. A few pounds of stone hare come to hand from each side of the wioze, and there are now 571bs stone on hand from here since last crushing. I called for tenders to drive 50ft. from the present face east of winze ; there were only three tenders received, and that of Autridge and party, being the lowest, was accepted. They commenced work yesterday morning. The winze on No. 1 reef below No. 2 level has made slight headway this week, through the reef swelling out into the footwall, and is now fully 6ft io thickness. The footwall portion is greatly improved, and looks well, being charged with first-class minerals. A few colors of gold were seen when breaking it down. The hanginwall portion has not been broken this week.— T. B. Hioks."
