PARLIAMENTARY GOSSIP.
[By Telegraph.] (from own our correspondent.) Wellington, This day. The Opposition meeting is being held as I write, but it does not sppear to be very successful, so far ns attendance goes. With one exception, all the doubtfuls are absent from the meeting, viz.: Messrs Barron, Sutter, Dargaville, Richardson, and others. When Mr Sntter received the letter inviting his attendance, be tore it op, remarkiug that he would vote to keep the Government in office for tho present. It appears that the meeting this morning was one of the Atkinson party only. Mr Fulton was in the chair, and over thirty members were present. After considerable discussion, it was determined that a no-confidence motion shall be tabled at the earliest possible" moment. There are still some negotiations to proceed with as to who shall move the motion, and who shall take office. It is understood that sixtyfour men want portfolios, and sixteen want the Premiership.
