Mr J. Coufcts was appointed at the late meeting inspector of the Saxon mine. An excellent feeling exists in the market for Thames stocks.

The applications of Messrs Swindley, Davis, and Pepper, for prospecting licenses were referred by the Waste Lands Board to the Warden, Thames. Perpetual Leasing in Thames DistrictThe petition of 500 settlers of Thames for the throwing open ef lands under the Homestead and Deferred Payment Systpms, came before the Waste Lands Board yesterday, and the Chairman stated that the suggestion of Warden Kenrick, that the land should be dealt with under the Perpetual Leases System was to be carried out.
