This day. A magisterial enquiry will be held on Monday into the collision between the s.s. Waihora and the barquentine May. Three Chinamen were charged yesterday with smuggling cigars from the Tamsui, and fined £5, £3, and £1 10s respectively. James L. Fleming was arrested this morning on a telegram from the registrar of the Supreme Court in Christchurch on a charge of attempting to evade the jurisdiction of the Bankruptcy Court in Christchurch. He was remanded until i the warrant for his arrest arrives. Bail was refused.
