THE LaMONTE PROCESS.
[By Telegraph.] (fbom oub own cobbespondent.) Auckland, This day. Mr LaMonte cabled to-day that he has just started a furnace at Silverton, N.S.W., and it has turned out a great success.
"JEaiES," in the Australasian, says:— " ' A.B. (Cantab) sends me this, with the answer and the premises that 'I don't think you would have found it out«oless,' etc. 'A wants change of a guinea, and he must have 21 pieces of British coin in exchange. He will not take pennies, threepenny or fourpenny pieces, sixpenses, shillings, two»shilling pieces, half acrown, or fire-shilling pieces. How was it done?' I submitted the problem to five young Victorians and a particular friend of mine (a lady), and all separately produced the correct solution within tire minutes." Two persons to whom this puzzle was submitted here sol red it in a minute or two, and doubtless others of OW readers will be equal to the occasion. '
