At the inquest on the body of Alice Burnaby, who committed suicide by taking 11 Hough on rats," a verdict was returned "That the deceased committed suicide while in a state of temporary insanity." The jury added a rider to the effect that they were of opinion that deceased had been deceived by Ignoe, whose conduct towards her had caused the state of mind which led to the rash act. Ignoe is a restaurant keeper, on whose premises the deed was committed.
