London, July 8. Latest intelligence from Annam states that General Courcy, who is in command of the French troops, has arrested the Kegent. Votes of thanks will shortly be passed by Parliament to New South Wales and to the other colonies for their offers of men for the Soudan, and suitable rewards will be made to the members of the Contingent for their services. Thirty thousand pounds has been voted to the Princess Beatrice by Parliament. Mr Gladstone has endorsed the Afghan policy laid down by the Marquis of Salisbury. The French Government has rectified the Egyptian Convention. A no-confidence motion, tabled by Sir Wilfred Lawson against the new Ministry, has failed completely.
