New Find.—Driving on No. 1 reef north from low level is still being pushed on; the reef is large, and nice gold is Been in the quartz. Breaking down the reef-south ia this drive is still being proceeded with, and the reef here is a healthylooking body of quartz, showing gold freely. Stopiog is being proceeded with on No. I reef above Arizona level, and a fair amount of gold is showing through the quartz. A number of hands are still employed breaking quartz from the surface of No. 1 reef, and the dirt coming to hand ia of fair crushing quality. Pbemiee.—-The winze in this mine has holed through into the level which has been recently driven from the crosscut. Stoping operations are being carried on in this block, and crushing will be com» menced during the ensuing week. May QtjEEK.—Tbis mine has just completed a parcel of 6 loads of quartz for a return of llozs lldwts_ of retorted gold. Operations in this mine are to be discontinued for a while, owing to some of the shareholders not paying their calls. The following are the battery returns for the week:—New Find: 100 truoks, crushed from all parts of the mine," for » yield of 49ozs from battery, and 30ozs from tailings : total, 79ozs - retorted gold. Colonist: 39 trucks, 21ozs 14dwts. May Queen: 6 trucks, llozs lldwts. The battery is now running 20 head of stampers for the New Find, and ten for the Colonist. Tailing plant: 26 berdana for New Find, and 9 for Colonist.
