Waiorongomai Mining.

New Find.—The reef in the low level north has become somewhat smaller the last few day 8, but is now again widening out; the reef in the level above showed similar characteristics whilst being driven upon. Fair gold, well distributed, is visible in the quartz broken out. The reef in this drive is being broken down south, and is here a nice compact body of stone, showing gold freely. Stoping No. 1 reef above the Arizona level is being proceeded with, and the reef looks well. Dirt is still being broken out from the surface of No. 1 reef, which also shows very fair gold. This Company have just concluded negotiations for the purchase of the Diamond Gully ground, and we underv stand steps will be taken to recommence operations forthwith. Retorting takes place on Monday. The mine are of late employing 20 head of stampers and 32 berdans on tailings. The quality of the gold shows considerable improvement, and last week fetched £2 lfii 5d per ounce, being 2s 5d per ounce more than has before been paid for same, thereby adding nearly £50 to the receipts.
