Cleaning up for this company will take place on Monday, and the crushing of the specimens on hand—about 3001bs—was commenced at the Prince Imperial battery to-day. The manager intends commencing driring operations westward on the reef at No. 3 level on Monday. The drive at the intermediate lerel is to be extended eastward, and this work will also probably be commenced on Monday. As parcels of picked stone were obtained some distance further eastward at No. 2 lerel than the intermediate lerel has been stoped. up to,' this work will prove whether the run of gold extends further eastward at this depth. SAXON. Io breaking tbe No. 1 reef in the stopes abore No. 4 lerel yesterday afternoon, the manager secured 151bs of speci. men a. * DABWIN. The reef in the drire at No. 3 lerel shows a slight improvement, a portion of the hangingwall of the reef showing gold. The crushing of the quarts from No. 3 lerel has been completed, and the battery is now engaged on quartz from the stopes abore No. 2 lerel.
NEW FIND (TE AROHA.) Tbe manager reports on June 16 as follows :—" Since the No. 1 reef has come to hand in the drire north from the loir lerel, a total of 18 feet hare been driven on the same. The reef so far continues to look well, showing rery fair gold, the quartz being of a nice kindly nature. Eighteen tracks of quartz have been forwarded to the battery as a trial from the reef in the drive, and ao far is showing for a payable return. The tailings will also be treated from this dirt, which will proTe the fall value of it. No. 1 reef in the atopei abore the Arizona lerel' still continues to look well, showing rery fair gold, the quarts from which: is crashing rery well at tbe battery. Surface of No. 1 reef t The quartz being broken from here show* an improvement lately; more gold showing in breaking quartz, which also is crushing better at the battery. Mr La Monte risited the New Find mine during the fortnight, going through the workings of the same, and seemed well pleased with your company's property. Crushing: Tbe first week's return from the battery after crushing 37 tracks from No. 1 reef above Arizona level, returned 55ozs goldtailings treated from same, 18ozi gold • 60 trucks, crushed from surface, returned battery 18ozs gold j old tailings treated. 12oz8 gold; total for week, 103om gold. The second week's return: 50 trucks. crushed from No. 1 reef abore Arizona lerel, returned battery 64ozs gold • tailings treated from tame, 290» lOdwta gold; 30 trucks crushed from surface returned battery lOozs gold: total for week, 103ozs lOdwts gold: making a total oa •:? UV° date of 2060zs lOdwti retorted gold. The trial crushing from the reef before No. 1 lode showed gold in the low lerel dnre, will be>rushed next week at the battery, it being now in trucks on the tramway.
