This day. At the Harbor Board meeting, the Finance Committee recommended that a loan of £50,000 at 4| per cent be raised. A resolution was also carried^-" That the Finance. Committee bo requested to report upon the feasibility of providing funds for the construction of a graving dock for Wellington. At the first meeting of Booth's Temperance mission, 13C0 blue ribbons were taken and 700 pledges. Volunteer Discipline. ? At the parade of the City Guards last night, Corporal Barry, was brought up charged with firing his rifle out of a railway carriage, .whilst, returning from,the review on the 25th May. He was admonished, and reduced to the ranks, being debarred from holding his non-commis> sioned oflicership for 12 months. Cork poral O'Neill, for a similar offence, did not appear, and in consequence it has been recommended that he be dismissed from the Volunteer force.
