BLENHEIM.

This day.

The Spring Creek Licensing Committee refused to grant a license to the new applicant for the Grove-Town Hotel, unless the residence occupied by the former licensee (whose license wa» cancelled because the hotel was badly conducted), was removed from its present position on the same frontage as, and within four feet of, the hotel, to the rear of the premises. The committee adjourned for a fortnight, intimating that the license would be granted if the conditions were complied with. The floods in Blenheim have gone down, and traffic in the streets has been resumed. The weather has apparently set in fine again.
