DJC- Winter Meeting.
Eacecottbse, This day. The Dunedin Jockey Club's Winter Meeting commenced at Forbury to-day. There had been falls of rain in the mora« ing, but the weather cleared a biC as the day wore on. The attendance; however, is not largo. The following are the results:—
Selling Hurdle Bace, of 80sovs; 1^ miles.—Little John, 1; Boyalty, 2 ; Hector, 3. Tichborne, Foreman, and Gang" awa'also started. Little John won easily by two lengths; time, 3mins ldsecs. Dividends—inside, £2 8s ; outside, £2 6s.
Maiden Plate, of 50.soys, If mile.— .Rocket, 1; May Boy, 2; MatakaDa, 3. Time, 2mins 26secs. Dividends—-Inside, £3 12s 6d ; outside, £3 15s 6d.
Provincial Handicap, of 2Gosovs, 1| mile.—Tim Whiffler, 1; Lady Emma, 2; Taiaroa, 3. Adamant also started. Tim Whiffler took the lead at the start, an.d kept it. Time; 2mins 58secs. Dividends ~£2 12s 6d, inside and outside.
