France Negotiates for an Amicable i Settlement.
An authoritative denial has been given to the report current yesterday that Germany has offered to mediate between France and China; and it is announced that M. Paternotre, French Ambassador at Pekin, has been authorised to negotiate with the Chinese Government for an amicable settlement of the difficulty.
