Wellington, Yesterday. Yesterday; at Island Bay, it poured with rain, and at 3 o'clock a perfect hurricane blowing, necessating a postponement "of the shooting. The weather had been bad all day, and the shooting was not therefore first class.
New Management Committee,
The meeting of delegates was held, at which there was a large attendance. It was announced that the Executive Council, had abolished themselves, and a committee of management was appointed consisting of ten members, five of whom are rifles and five carbines. Those appointed were —rifles: Lieut. Paynter (Nelson), Lieut. Purnell (Wanganui), Capt. Loveday (Wellington), Lieut. Eogers (Blenheim), Morris (Oamaru), Carbines: Capt. Somerville (Wanganui), Lieut. Hislop (Wellington), Capt. Wildman (Thames), Lieut. Eule (Oamaru), and Lieut. Eoss (Napier). It was decided that the committee shall three mouths before next meeting visit the spot chosen at which the shooting is to be held to make the necessary arrangements. A general meeting of the members of the Association was held in the drill shed last night. Capt. Somerville; of Wanganui, preiiding. Thate were about 150
present. A resolution was carried to have tho meetings peripatetic as. at present, and Wanganui. was chosen as the next place to hold a meeting. Nelson, Christchurch, and Blenheim were proposed, and their respective merits were discussed before the meeting came to a decision. The question of dividing the Government vote to the Association between the two Islands was brought up, and a resolution adopted that this meeting is in favor of the vote being kept intact as "at present, and other matters of detail were left to the com mi I tee appointed by the delegates. The weather has cleared again, and should it continue fine to-morrow the championships will be decided on Tuesday 1 afternoon. J The church parade to»day was poorly attended by the visiting Volunteers. This day. Hifb Championship. ; The following are the highest aggregates for the Eifle Championship, with another match to fire -.—; Flyger, Wanganui ... 371 Lucas, Thames ... '< ... 367 Purnell, Wanganui ... 365 Hummer, Master ton ... 351 Chtirton, Wanganui ... 350 Downie, Thames ... ... 344 Carbine Championship. The carbines have only one more range fo fire :— Parslow, Auckland ... 422 Perry, Wanganui... ... 422 Soss, Napier ... ... 421 Woolley, Auckland ... 419 Davy, Wellington ... ... 416 The Otago and Canterbury Matches, the last for the Belts, will finish to-night, and the final stages for the Championships will be fired to-morrow, and the prizes will be presented on Wednesday morning.
