CAMBRIA.
The manager lias made arrangements to start crushing tomovrow morning at the Imperial batter/ with 10 head of stamps, so that when the Golden Crown I battery commences work a force of .30 bead will be continuously employed. The following tenders were received: at noon to-day for driving 103 ft eastward at the 230 ft level, on the hangingwall of the v main reef :—M. McGinn, 13s lid pet • foot (accepted); F. White, 14* ; Me* Donald, 15s 6d; C. Hands 16s. The successful party start work to-morrow morning. The manager reported ye jterday as follows:—" The stopes are still taming ; out payable stuff*, gold being seen in all the stopes. The stope at the intermediate level is turning but good payable dirt, good dabs and colors of gold being seen,. all through the quartz when breaking down the reef. The reef is carrying goci mineral. The stuff at the battery has been shaping fairly this week ; about 80 loads hare been crushed for 2690zs of amalgam.-—H. W. Moohe." DARWIN. The manager reported yesterday :— " The winze is down a distance of 47 feet, and the reef still continues to look well, colours of gold being seen when breaking down. The contractors at the No. 3 lerel are making fair progress ; the drive is in a distance of 79 feet.—H. W. Moobe." DEEP LEVEL GROSS. , The winze sunk from the Saxon No. 5 level holed through to the New Prince Imperial No. 5 this morning, the distance being found to be only 23ft. The effect* ing of communication hasgreatly improved the ventilation, and no time will be lost in prosecuting the operations on No. 6 lead which have been held in abeyance so Ion;;. The lead has already been driven on fully 80ft., and as gold was seen at* each breaking down for that distance, stoping will be commenced at once. Driving will also be started towards the Imperial boundary. The leader is almost intact overhead, and if it continues payable upwards, a considerable supply of crash* ing dirt will be available. NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. The ventilation in the south crosscut at No; 5 level being now good, the manager will be able to go on with his proposed work of prospecting the old Crown Princess No. 6 (now in hand in the Deep Level Cross). For this purpose a branch crosscut will be put in to intersect it on the boundary, and it will then ba driven on northwards. There is a lone stretch on the lead in the company's ground, so there is a good chance of the manager opening up a payable block. KURANUI HILL. The recent crushings gave a total yield of 12oz8 2dwts melted gold; the trial parcel from the old stopes above the tunnel level yielded poorly, but that from No 2 reef at the 80ft level gave 28dwts per load The manager is therefore actively encased £&s%&'£?*.
