Eacecoubse (Forbury), This day,

The weather is fine, bat there is a stiff breeze blowing. The attendance is good. The proceedings opened with the Tally-ho Handicap, for which Linwood was scratched. JRavenswood was installed the favorite, with a slight call in the betting over-Borderman. The following were results :—

Tally-ho Handicap' of 90sovs; If mile— Trapper, 9st 81bs, (J. Cotton), 1; Kavenswood, list 121bs (Stewart), 2; Little John, 9at (Poole), 3. Ravenswood rushed to the front at the fall of the flag, and led past the stand the first time with Borderman. The latter went down at the far end of the course, ibis being the only mishap during the race. His place was taken by Little John, who raced side by side to the distance with Bavenswood, when Cottou let out Trapper. Little John soon cried a go, and a fine struggle ensued between them. The other two followed, whips being, out. The local representative always had a little the best of it from the new stand, and was landed a winner by a short half length. Time, Stains 12secs. Dividends—-inside, £7 12s 6d ; outside, £14 11s.

City Stakbs, of 200soTs., for two year olds ; five furlongs,—Stoneyhurst, Bst lOlbs (Thomson), 1; Everton Lad, Bst (Kean), 2 ; Spade Guinea, Bst 31bs (Derrit). 3. Cheap Jack, Lady Gertrude, and Jealousy also started. The betting was even money on Stoneyhurst, 2 to 1 on Everton Lad, 5 to 1 the others. The favorite was the quickest; on his legs, and leading the whole way, won with a deal in hand by a length. There was an interest* ing race for second place between Everton Lad and Spade Guinea. Jealousy hung at the post, and was last all the way.
