Robinson's br h Vanguard, syrs, 9st 31bs (Derritt), 1; Mr D. O'Brien's br o Trenton, 3yrs, 7st 91b (Stratford), 2; Mr Bates' c h Minerva, oyrs, 7st (Purdbam), 3. Adamant, Lady Emma, July, JNelson, Poet, Captain Webster, and Wapiti also ran. Minerva led from the start till near home, when Vanguard came up, and after a y struggle at the turn with Trenton, came in an easy winner by two lengths. Lady Emma looked dangerous at the turn, but could not get up, and was not persevered with. Wapiti was last. Time,. 3mins. 53secs. Of £4,205 in the totalisator, £1,186 was ou Vanguard. Dividends £3 2s and £3 Bs.
