This day,

The weather to»day is glorious for the holiday making. There is very little wind for the regatta, the events in which are principally sailing ones. The Pukerua Accident. At the inquest on the body of Tanzable, killed by a fall of earth at Pukerua tunnel yesterday, it was shown that every precaution was taken during the progress of the work. The opinion was expressed that the earthquake which was felt previous to the accident might have had something to do with it. The verdict returned was that deceased met with his death by a fall of earth, but there was no evidence to show how that fall was caused. The inquest on the other men will be held to morrow.
