OUR MINES.

NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL,

The manager is losing no time in pushing forward the operations on No. 2 reef at No. 7 level, both east and west drives, with leading stopes over them, being in progress. In the west drive, the lead is of a fair size, though not very solid, It, however, carries gold, and colqrs, were seen in breaking down this morning. The dirt from the stopes is being sent to the battery, but no quartz is at present, coming from the east drive, in the face of which there is only a clay seam showing. The stopes on the footwall lead, above No. 6 level, continue to show gold pretty freely. DEEP LEVEL CROSS. At the Saxon No. 5 level, the manager is driving seaward on the No. 2 reef. This has now been stripped for some 30ft in the company's grouud. No regular breaking has taken place, but gold has been seen in some quartz which came away while the men were stripping. The discovery of specimens in the No, 3 reef by the Saxon Company is satisfactory to the Cross, as there is only 30ft to drive to the boundary, and this reef, in its westward course, must junction with the one recently driven on by the Cross at the Imperial No. o level with such encouraging results. THAMES GOLDEN CROWN. Tenders were received up to 4 p.m. yesterday for removing the machinery at the Seymour shaft in the Mary Ann section. The tenders were forwarded to the directors for disposal without their contents being made public. GOLD RETURNS. Colonist (Waiorongomai).—A parcel of!32ozs 2dwts gold, reduced to 31ozs 3dwts on melting, was banked to-day.
