Thames J.C. Meeting.

The Summer Meeting of the Thames Jockey Club opens on Friday next, and the events on the programme are open to a deal of speculation. The handicappers have been happy in their selection of weights for the horses entered for the various events, and, considering the entries, some good sport should be afforded to the patrons of the meeting. It is no easy task to predict the winners, but I would pin my faith to the following:—For the Fbee Handicap Tedford should have a very good show and will very likely be followed closely to the post by Dressmaker. In the : Huedle Race the first place lies between Fisherboy and Sunray, and I am in favor of according the choice to the former. In the : Thames Plate. Libeller, if present, would have a big say, but as there is considerable doubt attached to his turning up, I will accord the preference to Larry, who should pull the event off, unless Tetford passes him. There will probably only be two starters for the Stewaeds Handicap. These will be Dressmaker and Slider, and the first-named should secure the stakes.

For the second days meeting the chief events at present handicapped are the Goldfield's Handicap, For which are entered Libeller, Larry, and Dressmaker. Libeller will in allprobability start for this event, and he should certainly carry it off, closely foU lowed by Larry. The Steeplechase Should be Chandler's, with Topthorn well up. Nemo.
