— ( NEW PKINCE IMPERIAL. The manager reported on Saturday :— " Cleaning up and retorting took place to» day for the yield of 7820zs of retorted gold, which was reduced on melting to 7700zs lOdwts. % For this return 807 loads of quartz and 3cwt. of specimens and picked stone were crushed. At No. 7 level, driving east and west on the No, % lead is being pushed on as speedily aa possible. The west drive is in SSft. from the crosscut, and the eastern drive 10ft. The lead in both drives is carrying well defined walls, but there is a good deal of 10ft mullock about the walls which stop the mineral and flinty veins from strikiag into the quartz. A leading stope eoing west was startedyesterday.and, will be carried on after the drive. The stopes in the western block above No. (S level are looking a little better, gold having been seen pretty freely during the last day or two. There is nothing fresh to report fyom the other parts of the mine. Work will be^suspended in the mine from Wednesday next, 24th inst., until Monday, the sth January, 1885. -»Gr. OWHAROA. Mr S. Farmer banked the following parcels of gold from this field to day :— Smile of Fortune, 28ozs 13dwts from a crushing of 60 loads for Farmer and party; Radical, 4ozs Bdwts fram 5 loads crushed by Frearson and party ; Lucky Hit, 60Z3 14dwts, from 13 loads treated by Farmer and Eouse. GOLD EETUENS. Caledonian.—Thomas and party hare banked 6ozs 4dwts gold. Mills' and party's crushing gave 14ozs 4iwts gold. Old Whau.—Bowler and party hare crushed 7 loads for the yield of 26ozs lOdwts gold. Albubnia. —McDonald, tributer, has banked 34jozs gold. Kubanui Hill.—A crushing for Williams and party gave 6ozs gold. Little EDiTH(Tapu).—Bull and party this morning banked 29ozs 12dwts melted gold from 6 tons. The party are driving and stoping, the leader being from 3 to 6 inches thick.
