Another Death from Small-pox-A patient at the quarantine station, named Casey, has died from smallpox. No fresh match has yet been arranged between Beach and Clifford in place of the one which was fixed for the 28th February next, but which fell through owing to Beach forfeiting by mistake. Hobart, This day. Arrived, on Saturday: Shaw, SavilleAlbion Co.'s Arawa, en route for New Zealand. Melboubne, This day. Mr E. Murray Smith, Agent-General in London, telegraphs to Government that he has seen Sir .Robert Herbert, Permanent Secretary of the Colonial Office, and that official doubts as to the reported German annexation of a northern portion of New Guinea, and its islands of New Britain, New Ireland, New Hanover, and the Admiralty Group; and Mr Smith adds that the German Embassy in Lon-. don denies the truth of the information received to that effect.
