New Zealand Exhibition.
In a circular issued by Sir Julius Vogel, relative to the Industrial branch, of the evening. exhibition at Wellington, he says : —The following constitute the cl&ssifica* tion of this branch, and it is distinctly understood that the actual workmen and workwomen are in this branch to be the exhibitors :—Group I—Works of children not exceeding thirteen years .of age. Group 2—Works of children not exceed^ ing sixteen years of age. Group 3—(1) works of art; (2) painting ; (3) drawing ; (4) sculpture; (5) carving; (6) art furniture. Group 4—Works of usefulness, or science, or of amusement including philosophical apparatus and models. Group (5)—(1) plain and art needlework ; (2) dressmak* ing; (3) millinery; (4) upholstering; (5) tapestry; (6) embroidery; (7) knitting; (8) netting ; (9) crotchet; (10) lace j (11) spinning; (12) weaving; )13)straw; (14) plaiting; (15) leatherwork. Wellington, This day. A very important exhibition of the present seasoa'3 clip of wooi will be held in Wellington in connection with the NewZealand Industrial Exhibition ; one gold medal and two silver medals will be awarded.
