Inkeeman (Reefton). —The Company resumed crushing operations on the 7th. The last amount of amalgam collected at the battery was t};e yield of 1200 tons, and represented a money value per ton of about 255. If the stone gives a similar average the compaay will clear off liabilities at an earlier date than was a few months back anticipated by some of the local shareholders. Now that the aerial tramroad system has been brought into practical use on this field it will not require a very large outlay to prove atone found in ground to be payable or otherwise. Mr Cacace on the 9th brought down from Lyell the gold produced from the United Alpine Company's mine during the last month, viz., I74jozs from 300 tons of quartz.
