Ohinemuri Goldflold.

Kaeangahake.—The Hauraki Battery is crushing.for the Ivanhoe and Sir Walter Scott, 8 head each. The Scott expects to clean up in about 3 weeks, and the general opinion is that they will have 500ozs. The Ivanhoe is putting through about 7 feet of the reef, which is shaping for about l|oz to the ton. In the Woodstock the reef is improving as worked on, gold being seen more frequently in the stone. The shareholders expect to commence crushing as soon as the Scott cleans up. Hidden Treasure are sinking a winze on the shot of gold, and are getting some capital stone. They have about 6 tons of stone in hand, worth 3ozs to the ton, and have done a great amount of dead work 9ince starting. Martha is working the same lead as Hid* den Treasure and with similar results. These two claims intend to get out a crashing before Christmas. The want of a road to these claims is badly felt. Waihi —The battery has been kept fully employed last week on stuff from the low level which has been showing up for a fair return. The manager has only lately realized the fact that the battery stampers were light weight. Up till lately, two horses on the tram running 40 tons daily of upper level and surface stuff, all went though; but now, one horse taking 24 tons is gaining on the battery, the stuff from the low level being all pure quartz, and hard at that, goes through very slow. The usual cleaning up takes placa at the> end of this week, when a little over 300oa» of gold is expected.—Tribune.

Tenders were opened on Saturday after* noon for driving 100 ft. on the reef lafcelj cut in the low level of the New North Star, Te Papa Gully. Three tenders, at £1, 19s 6d, and 18s 9d per foot, were received, J. Wilson's offer bein accapted afc fhe last-named figure. The lode is small, aud has not Bhown gold yet, but it is expected to improve within. 40ft.
