GREYMOUTH.
This day,
Aiding Cockfighting.
Nine persons were charged at the B.M. Court this morning with aiding and abet* ting cockfighting at Marsden on the 7th October. Counsel for defence raised several technical objections—one of which was held to be fatal, and the case was dismissed. The Magistrate commented in severe terms upon the case, but hoped the disgrace and exposure would prove sufficient to prevent any further exhibitions of the kind. He directed that further pro* ceedings should be taken in the matter.
