Waiorongomai Mining.
New Find.—The most noticeable feature in the mine at present is the continuance of gold downwards in the winze in the Arizona level. First class crushing stuff is still being got there, and the reef in the bottom looks as well as ever it did, both in size and appearance. Concerning the low level there is no change to record. The reef in the north end continues to look exceedingly promising, but it has not yet shown gold enough to warrant the belief that it is payable; The stopes are yielding the usual quantity of fair crushing dirt.
Colonist.—The winze being sunk from the No. 2 to the low level ia now down 25ft. At that depth the lode is about four feet in width and is producing pay. able quartz. In the low level the gold bearing part of the reef is still very small but it may be expected to increase in size shortly, as the face is now within a shert distance of being under the winze. On Williams's leader, which has now beea followed about 30ft. into the claim from the Canadian boundary, fair prospects are being got, the vein averaging about eighteen inches in thickness. There is nothing of importance to chronicle regarding the stopes.
Pjjemier.—The manager is now engaged on a leader in the big open face. There are a number of likely viens, and in the one now in hand, which varies from a few inches to a couple of feet in thick* ness, some very good slone has been got within the last few days. If the leader continues as at present, there is everj likelihood it will pay handsomely for work« ing.
May Queen. —Payable gold is still found in sinking the upper winze, which is now down about 22ft., at which depth the reef is fully two feet in thickness.—« News.
