DISTRICT COURT-This Day.
(Before His Honor H. G. Seth Smith, District Judge.) WINDING UP OBDERS. Mr Lush, on behalf of Wm. McClear, applied for an order to wind up the Canterbury G.M.Co. Te Aroha. —Granted, the general meeting of shareholders to be held at Te Aroha on the 21st inst. Mr L. Melhose's appointment as liquidator of the Hobson G.M.Co. was confirmed. In Bankruptcy. Ec W. Bennett, of Te Aroha.—Mr Lush applied for the costs to be allowed out of the estate, and called the DeputyOfficial Assignee, who deposed that at a , meeting of creditors held in Te Archa, an offer by the debtor to pay if time was allowed him, was accepted, and a deed was prepared by Mr J. Cuff for the pur* pose. In consequence of a lieu held by Mr Gibbons over some of the property it was impossible that the proceedings could be confirmed within a month, as required by law. The bankrupt had, therefore, written to him withdrawing from the composition agreed to, and directing that the estate be liquidated in the usual way. —The application was allowed. Ec Edwin Hadfield, of Waiorongomai; adjourned public examination.—Mr Lush stated that the debtor was not able to appear, having no funds to pay his travelling expenses. He had no instructions from his client, and the proceedings would therefore have to lapse. Ec John Phillips, of Paeroa; application for discharge. —Mr Miller appeared for the debtor.—'The Deputy Official Assignee recommended that the discharge should be contingent upon all costs being paid by the debtor. —Discharge granted accordingly, the costs to be taxed by the Clerk of the Court. Ec Henry and Eobert Plummer ; application for discharge.—Mr Miller appeared for the bankrupts, and said that the meeting of creditors had been convened, but they had not attended.
