Large Fire at TahitiThe brigantine Ada C. Owen, from Rarotonga, brings news of a great fire at Tahiti early in September. Thirteen stores were destroyed. . Later. A fire at Tahiti on August 22nd destroyed almost the entire business centre of the town, including the stores and dwellings of A. A. Crawford and Co., John Boyd, De Grenn, Stewart, Drollett (junr.), Cape and Young, Ah Yong, Yet Lee, Hop Lo, Bainly, Tapinot and Feione, Darcie, and the upper storey of Coppenrath's. The total loss is between five and ten thousand pounds. • Still Another Suicide. Henry Mitchell, of Hikurangi, Whan garei County, who had twice before at* tempted suicide, completed his purpose at Kamo yesterday by cutting his throat.
