AUCKLAND.

This day.

Certain gentlemen in this city forwarded to Sir J. Vogel yesterday a telegram relative to Thames matters, but the style and wording oi- the message was not either courteous or calculated to secure the desired end in the opinion of many people. The message commenced with the following words :—" If the £10,000 asked from Government is not granted, suspension of all low lerel vyorks at the Thames must, result," and it was signed by Messrs Brett, Lennox, and Morrin. A reply has not yet been received, but if Sir J. Vogel should take notice at all of the message, which is unlikely, I will forward you his answer.
