There is very little additionalnews rela tive to the Lastingham. The Underwriters' Association have chartered the steamer Napier to proceed to the scene of the disaster for the purpose of recovering any property that may have floated ashore. A Magisterial inquiry will be held to-morrow at 11 30 into the circumstances attending (he loss of the vessel. A rumor is afloat that the captain was not on deck at the moment the vessel str-uck, but. there is nothing definite known, and probably nothing further will be until the inquiry to-morrow. • The Colonial insurances on the Lastingham are: Colonial, £2,800; Victorian, £1,500; South British, £2,000; New Zealand,- £590; Adelaide, £2000. Bhe was loaded with, merchandise valued' at £16,400, all of which was consigned to Wellington. One large item in the cargo was rails and general machinery, £3300, and besides this she had a large quantity of cement, spirits, &c. .
