The heavy rain which fell at Cafterton during the 24 hours * has aot caused sny particular damage to the township. - All the streams are much swollen. From Kokatu and Waihakeke it is reported that several farmers bavelost heavily, but cannot ascertain the full extent of -the damage. The sheep and stock were removed yesterday to about where the heavy floods of March, 1880, reeched, but this flood covered that, and the settlers were powerless to assist their stock, and face the wall of water that came down in the afternoon. The losses are principally by small farmers, who can ill afford them.
