Borough Elections.
NOMINATIONS. The nominations of members to fill the vacancies caused by the annual retire*, ment of Councillors, as provided by the Act, took place at noon to-day. Mr F. R. G. Woodward, Botuining Officer, presided.
The following is the list of nominations : —

South Wabd. ltob'ort Farrell —proposed by John Townsond, seconded by Peter Maxwell. William Murdoch —proposed by James McGowan, seconded by Bernard Wolff. John Ernest Hansen—proposed by John Thompson, seconded by Robert T. Douglas. Paeawai Wabd. William Murdoch —proposed by T. Manning, seconded by William Howe. John Ernest Hansen—Proposed_ by Francis Chappell, seconded by John Wilcox. Francis Chappell—Proposed by John Ernest Hansen, seconded by John Wilcox. The Returning Officer declared the nominations made, and announced that as the candidates in each ward exceeded the number required, a poll would be taken on Thursday, the 11th of September, from the hours of 9 o'clock a.m. to ■ 6 o'clock p.m.
