COROMANDEL ELECTION.

(To Lhs Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib, —I should not have troubled yon with a letter were it not that falsehoods are being freely circulated' regarding Mr Cadman. Mr C, I am certain, will not turn his coat, as is said, and become an adherent of the present Government; », neither is that gentleman to be bribed by 'v any'cfler^frqm such. TbisNbait has al- ;• ready,; b&n laid before him and rejected. When a cause is so rotten that it requires bolstering up by falsehood, we may well judge of what will become of it. This ' district does not require beggars to advocate its interests; this has made the Thames appear so little in the eyea of the Government. We want men who will stand shoulder to-shoulder in Parliament, and demand our fair share of revenue and loans. Such men are Cadman, Speight, and Morris; with these in the House, firmly advocating our rights together, no Government tannot long refuse them. Unity of action ; that is what „is wanted—it';? will 1 work wonders for the district; but such unity was never yet obtained. Electors of Coromandel will only throw away their rotes in voting for a Central Committeo Government nominee. We-refuse to b« dictated to as to whom we shall elect for Coromandel or the Thames.-—I am, &c, . WiiLiAM Wood.
