M. Covrmeaux has returned to France from his special mission to the Australian colonies and New Caledonia; and his report on the subject of his mission has been forwarded to the French Premier. The French papers, commenting on this report, state it will probably lead either to the postponement or modification of the Eecidiviste Bill. ■•■''■ June 12. Arrangements for the approaching conference on Egyptian affairs are rapidly approaching completion. It is reported that the British Government will withdraw their troops from Egypt at an early date, and the Great Powers represented at the Conference are unanimous in making a request to that effect. .
