Beitteb's Telegbams [Received Juno 14, 2.45 p.m.] London, June 13. In the House of Commons the Eepresentation of People Bill was again under consiciera!ion in Committee. An amendment which had been introduced for the purpose of extending the Parliamentary franchise to women, was, after debate, negatived, on a division, by a majority of 130. . In the course of the debate, Mr Gladstone stated that Govern* pent would not be answerable for the bill if the amendment was carried.

London, Junel2. The Australian team commenced a cricket match to-day rgainst representatives of Nottingham County at Nottingham. The following are the names of the local team :—Whight A ttewell, Barnes, Flowers, Gunn, Scottorn, Selby, A. Shaw, Shertvin, Shrewsbury, and W. Wright. There was a large attendance of spectators, and the weather was splendid; the ground in good order, and an excellent wicket. The wool auctions closed to-day. The total quantity sold during the series was 320,000 bales; 38,000 bales been held over. Greasy wools closed at last sales' closing rates; crossbreds are a halfpenny higher than at the close of Feb.March auctions; fleece wools closed irregularly. Foochow, July 12. The tea market is now fairly actire. The quality of new season's supplies is considered rather better than last season's. Prices for finest qualities are from 3 to 4 taels below last year's rates ; for common qualities the prices are about the same as last season.
