London, Jane 6. Souakim Threatened.
Telegrams from Souakim, where the garrison has been reinforced by a body of British marines, state that Osman Dignn, with a following of 70,000 Arab rebels, is now in the neighborhood, and threatens to make an attack upon the town.
Campaign Preparations Aban-
doned.
Caibo, June 6.
The preparations which, were in progress here for an autumn campaign to the Soudan have now been suspended.
Caibo, June 4. Rumored Escape of General
Gordon.
Reports have reached here to the effect that General Gordon has left Khartoum, and escaped southwards up the Eiver Nile on board a steamer.

London, June 5.
Tawhiao and his chiefs intend to raise the question of the legality of the New Zealand land confiscations, if they can, while in England. They propose leaving on their return to the colony in August.
