DISTRICT COURT-This Day.
(Before His Honor H. G. Seth Smith,
District Judge.) IN BANKRUPTCY. Ik be Sherlock Bros.—Mr Miller appeared for the debtors, and applied for a certificate of discharge. There being no opposition, the order as requested was granted. The Assignee's agent stated that the debtors had given him every assistance in conducting the liquidation. In be Thomas Caldwell.—A similar application was made by Mr Lush on behalf of the debtor. A case bad been submitted to the Judge regarding a bill of sale given by the debtor to Wells and Souter. The Judge decided that theproperty should go to the creditors ; and a further examination of the bankrupt was decided to be unnecessary. In be C. H. Tqnge.—The public examination of the debtor took place, Mr Miller appearing in his behalf. He deposed that the, cause of his bankruptcy was principally through building and fur-. Dishing a boarding house at Te Aroha during flourishing times, and subsequent loss on account of a general depression. His properly had mortgaged for £500, and was sold and bought in by the mortgagee, causing tlie debtor a loss of £400. The usual order thafc the bankrupt had been examined, was made.
In re Thomas Scott.—An order for adjudication of bankruptcy was made. In be John Ellis.—A similar order was made. • Civil Jueisdiction. Taipari v. Bobinson and others.—Mr Miller appeared, for the plaintiff' and Mr Lush for Eobinson and Gordon, the third defendant, Wilson, was unrepresented by counsel.
Judgment was deferred till the morning
