This day. At the open air meeting of the unemployed, Mr T. Bracken, M.H.8,., said he had telegraphed to the Premier on Saturday, asking.that temporary work be given immediately, but the Premier had not had the courtesy to reply. The Mayor Baid he had also telegraphed to the Premier this morning, expressing his great surprise that no reply had been received to his former message, and that a matter of such moment demanded an immediate answer. Large numbers of. unemployed besiege him for work, and he said at the Council meeting he would endeavor to induce that body to provide temporary work. The prospectus of the Otago Co-opera-tive Farmers Society with a capital of £50,000 pounds shares has been issued.
