BLENHEIM.
This day. The Sheep Department have laid informations under the "Scab Act" against Philip Mcßae, of Blairish, and William Pollard, of Birch Hill. The information against Mcßae alleges that he, being the owner of 19,000 infected sheep, did neglect to keep the rams separate from the ewes before the Inspector had granted a clean certificate for such ewes, and the information against Pollard alleges that he was convicted on the 12th November of being the owner of 2COO infected sheep, and in that after the expiration of six months they still continue to be infected. Both informations came before the R.M. Court today, and were adjourned to allow the defendants to muster the sheep. The dwelling house of John Brydon, at Renwick town was burned down on Saturday night. The furniture was almost totally destroyed. The cause is unknown. The insurance is £100 on the house, and £50 on the furniture, both in the Royal.
