MARTHA EXTENDED (WAIHI).
Mr Moore, mariager of the above mine, arrived in town to-day, bringing the proceeds of the last month's crushing operations, in the shape of 183ozs of retorted gold, which on being melted was only reduced by lOdwts, leaving the amount of gold 182|ozs. This return is the product of about 600 tons of dirt treated at the company's battery, where the full complement of stampers (30 in num<« ber) are constantly at work, and was obtained chiefly from the Martha and Dulcibel sections of the mine. The reef, continues to look about the same, and the return, although not a rich one, is more than payable, as from the ease with which the stone is obtained, and the cheapness of crushing, a very low average pays handsomely. The number of hands employed in the mine and battery is only abo"ut2o. GOLD RETURNS. Moanataiei.—A crushing for White and party, tributers in this mine, yielded 30ozs sdwts, and Williams and party obtained Bozs 17dwts from a crushing just concluded for them.
